Our Origin Story

It All Started with a Notebook

Workrite didn’t start with a business plan - it started with a notebook.

As a young teenager, Workrite’s Founder, Maria Dunn, spent countless hours writing short stories, journal entries, poems, and song lyrics - anything that gave shape to the thoughts in her head. At the time, she had no idea that this early love of words would one day become the foundation of an entire company.

Looking back, it makes perfect sense.

 

Writing taught her how to listen closely, communicate clearly, and make meaning out of chaos. Those same instincts became her superpowers in the world of work - first in legal settings, then in operations and HR, and now as the go-to person leaders and business owners call when things get messy and complicated.

Workrite was built to help businesses work better and work right, not by piling on more rules or jargon, but by bringing clarity to the chaos, by translating complexity into something teams can understand, and by making communication human again.

Today, we combine practical expertise with that same writing-fueled sense of clarity and connection. We help organizations streamline their systems, support their people, and create workplaces where everyone knows what they’re doing - and why it matters.

Because when you get that right, everything else falls into place.

Since launching in 2023, Workrite has approached every client engagement with intention, guided by a set of core beliefs and values that guide our approach to the work we do.
